The Evolution of a Quilt

We have been having some work done on our house over the past few weeks. As a result I was kicked out of my studio for several days. I took up residence in my secondary workspace, formerly known as “the dining room”.

While the electricians were banging around in my walls I cut a pile of 3.25″ squares and then laid them out on my design wall.

Ok, so now what? Add circles. That’s what I do.

Ummm, it’s ok, but not great. What to do next? Stand around and look at the wall for a while. Sleep on it. Then stand around looking at the wall a bit more. Finally I varied the size of the circles, put them on the corners of the blocks, and grouped like colors together.

The electricians have since relinquished my studio, so I went to work quilting the top. I used a tight flame-like stitch and only quilted between the circles.

The back is pretty fun.

Now it just needs a binding and a name. Any title suggestions?
