Originally the blue background on this quilt was going to be the whole quilt. I had grand plans to intricately quilt it with botanicals. I really was not fond of the quilt, especially after I started the quilting. So, I ripped the quilting out and put it back on the shelf for a year. The appliquéd circles were a happy afterthought that pulled the quilt together.
