2004
Le Blanc is my modern interpretation of the very traditional art form of whitework trapunto, a quilting technique that dates back the the 14th century. This quilt was started in a class taught by Karen McTavish. In creating Le Blanc, I used contemporary tools and techniques, such as a long arm quilting machine, polyester batting, vanishing ink and thread, as well as the 21st century sensibility to capture the textures, tactility and beauty one can create on a blank, white piece of muslin.
